On this inaugural episode of qTalk Arizona, I’m chatting with Micheal Weakley and Babe Caylor from 1n10. 1n10 provides a safe environment to LGBTQ youth to promote positive self-acceptance through life enhancing programs here in the Valley of the Sun.
I myself was a member of these youth programs ‘back in the day’, just about 12 years ago this very month. Without 1n10, I can’t imagine how my life would be today without all the great experiences I had and new friends that I met through the programs. I chat with Micheal and Babe about how 1n10 has changed in its many years and we also discuss why having these youth services in place today is more important than ever. Growing up as a teenager is hard enough, but being a queer teen is even harder.
